The children at Acorn at Stanwick enjoyed an afternoon of fun with the ladies and gentleman from the local church, organised alongside Stanwick Lakes and St Laurence Church. The children were thrilled to be travelling in the minibus to Stanwick Lakes where they enthusiastically shared the freshly baked homemade cheese scones with the group. They were a real hit and thoroughly enjoyed by all! The children spent the rest of the afternoon crafting birds with a little help from their new friends.

Nursery Manager Sarah Travers said both the residents and children really enjoyed the visit and it was lovely to see friendships forming. She said “ Building links with the local community is really important to the nursery and it’s lovely to see the children engaging with our neighbours at St Laurence Church. We must say a huge thank- you to Jane Ivens, the project manager for Rockingham Trust for making this possible”

The visit was a great success and the residents spoke enthusiastically about the children’s visit for the rest of the evening, two further visits are currently in the planning before the children go to school in the Summer.
