Acorns Forest School Team thoroughly enjoyed running their first ever Home Educated session at Salcey Forest this month.

The sessions are aimed at primary aged children that are home-educated, whose parents want to provide them with regular access to an alternative form of education.

Sessions are 4 hours and include a snack prepared on the fire. The sessions are generally child-led, but a range of activities will be offered over the course of the programme, including:

Fire lighting, maintenance and safety
Cooking skills
Team activities, such as building dens, bridges or tree-houses
Tool use and tool safety
Arts, crafts and activities using natural resources
Basic knots and lashings, and their uses
Tree climbing and building obstacle courses
Among many others

Sessions are £15 per child and can be booked online
