New Nursery Coming We are delighted to announce our plans to open a brand-new nursery in Letchworth, which we expect to open in January 2027. Our new setting will offer high-quality early years education and care for up to 78 children, welcoming babies and young children from 6 months to 4 years. Ahead of the official opening, we are aiming to welcome families for showarounds and settling-in sessions from December 2026. This expansion marks a significant milestone for us as we bring our distinctive, child-centred approach to a new community. Rooted in our ethical values as a charitable social enterprise, our Letchworth nursery will provide rich opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Freshly prepared, home-cooked meals will also form a key part of the daily experience, supporting children’s health and wellbeing. We are very excited to become part of the Letchworth community and to build strong relationships with the local community. The nursery building is situated in Pearsall Close, off Pixmore Avenue, and was formerly the Ernest Gardiner Day Hospital. It is being refurbished and adapted to create an inspiring and welcoming environment for babies, toddlers and pre-school children. The building has spacious, airy rooms, all on the ground floor, and with access to enclosed garden play areas from each room. We expect interest in places to be high, so to put your name on our enquiries list, please email [email protected]. We will also be recruiting for a range of roles, including Early Years Practitioners, a nursery chef, and administrative support. We are proud to be a supportive and rewarding place to work, offering a range of fantastic benefits alongside opportunities for development and progression. All employees also benefit from 65% discount on childcare. Those interested in joining our team, or who would like an informal conversation, can get in touch at [email protected]. Recruitment open days will be taking place from September, with open days for families shortly after. We look forward to welcoming children, families, and new team members, and to becoming a valued part of the Letchworth community as we bring our Acorn approach to this exciting new setting. We will be sharing updates about the progress in the refurbishment, so watch this space!
