Highland Close, Bletchley, MK3 7PD About our Nursery Our day nursery is adjoined to an outdoor learning centre that builds on our popular Forest School provision and reputation for Forest School training. One of our key priorities is outdoor play and learning, which is clearly evident at Cold Harbour, where the outdoor environment and play area are available to the children all day, every day. The nursery offers full and part-time care for up to 54 children from the age of four months to four years, and are open from 7.30am to 6.15pm, Monday to Friday, all year round. All Acorn nurseries are closed for all bank holidays, between Christmas and new year, plus our four training days each year. This means that monthly fees for 2024 are calculated over 49 weeks. You will not be charged for these days, however fees are payable for additional closure days which are out of our control, eg: additional bank holidays over the standard eight. Our menus have been carefully planned to be both seasonal and nutritionally balanced and tasty ensuring we have clean plates every time! Our cook prepares all the nursery meals and snacks onsite each day providing nutritionally balanced meals which are both healthy and appetising. We only use fresh, local, ethically sourced produce to create our delicious meals. We can accommodate most dietary requirements and have won several awards for our food. Sammy and her team strive to make the nursery a place where positive and close relationships with children and parents are welcomed and valued. They believe it is important to create a home from home experience where children feel happy, safe and secure, and as a result, thrive within our nursery. The site also hosts outdoor playschemes, bushcraft and forest school sessions, all year round. We accept funded two, three and four year olds, subject to eligibility. Meet Jane, Our manager Jane has worked in childcare for over 20 years with children aged from 0-5 years and holds a Level 4 qualification. She has a family of her own and her daughter also attends Acorn. She is passionate about creating an inviting environment that supports the children’s interests both indoors and out; whilst promoting home learning by working closely with all of the families to support the children’s learning and development. (Sammy at 20 months) Meet Sammy, our Nursery Manager (Currently on Maternity Leave) Sammy has worked at Acorn for over ten years moving from a Deputy Manager position at our Jubilee Wood setting to Nursery Manager at Cold Harbour. She has a wealth of experience with over 14 years working within the childcare sector and holds a Level 4 qualification.She is very passionate and proud in providing the highest standard of care and learning opportunities to all children within the setting and believes in giving the children a home from home experience during their time at nursery.
