We are delighted to announce our plans to open another nursery, which we are aiming to open in Spring 2022 in the lovely village of Emberton, near Olney. Located in what was the old school, we will be adapting the building to younger children and adding our Acorn touch, whilst retaining the character of the original architecture. We have exciting plans to develop the expansive outside area into a new outdoor learning centre, which will offer a nature kindergarten during term-time, and an outdoor playscheme in school holidays, for school aged children.

In the nursery, we will be offering full and part-time care for up to 37 places for babies, toddlers and pre-school children, and will be open from 7.30am to 6.15pm, Monday to Friday, all year round. In addition to the nursery, the outdoor learning centre will offer a 24 place outdoor holiday club for children age 4-13, alongside other outdoor sessions for the local community. We also hope to start a playscheme during school holidays, and we have already started our tree planting, as the first phase of our development of the outdoor environment. Over the next couple of years we aim to plant over 500 trees and shrubs, build several outdoor shelters and other wooden structures and sculptures, develop an orchard and allotment area, and develop a range of other outdoor provisions that will enhance the activities and sessions on offer.

The nursery children will enjoy regular forest school sessions and all our nursery experiences and activities will be included in the standard nursery fees. The Emberton nursery will also pride itself on its food, using only fresh, local, and ethically sourced produce to create delicious and nutritionally balanced meals, and will make the most of the location by aiming to grow our own produce and cook some meals outside!  All of our fees are fully inclusive – there are no hidden charges. All meals, snacks, drinks (including formula milk), nappies and activities are included in what you pay.

Priority for places at both the nursery and the outdoor playscheme will be given first to children living in the village, to families whose children attend any of the Village Schools Federation schools; St Andrews, Sherington, North Crawley, Stoke Goldington, Newton Blossomville, and to families already using other Acorn provisions.

The Tree Planting has begun!

A big thank you to Acorn MK Nurseries Ltd in Emberton, for their very generous donation of the first 30 trees planted in our new Outdoor Learning Centre. These are the first of several hundred trees and saplings that will be planted over the coming months.
