Safeguarding Courses

Acorn Training works in collaboration with Tammie Redman, an expert and experienced safeguarding trainer and consultant, to deliver the most comprehensive safeguarding training programme in our region.

Our safeguarding training programme is suitable for childminders, early years settings, schools, and many other organisations that work with children.

The training programme considers the individual safeguarding policies and procedures of a variety of different local authorities, including Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Central Bedfordshire, Bedford Borough, among others.

Early Years Courses

Our Early Years courses are usually delivered by Becky Watanabe (Early Years Trainer & Consultant) or Laura Andrews (Senior Early Years Manager), both of whom have been instrumental in achieving 'Outstanding' across all areas in settings they have managed.

With courses that help delegates with creating enabling environment and invitations to play, to courses that help delegates understand how children learn, we are confident that you will be able to find something that meets your needs in the Early Years. Almost all courses utilise a practical, hands-on approach to training, and usually take place in a training room full with inspirational ideas to take back to your setting.

On occasions, Acorn Training welcomes experts in the field to deliver engaging and inspiring courses, such as our Planning in the Moment course delivered by Anna Ephgrave.

First Aid Courses

To support learners on our L3 forest school leader qualifications, Acorn collaborates with FS (First Aid) Training to organise Forest School First Aid courses, a 16 hour first aid course that provides both Paediatric and Activity First Aid certificates, in line with both Ofsted and the Forest School Association requirements. Although courses are often hosted at our training centre, bookings are taken directly by FS Training. To see a list of upcoming courses, please click here.
