At Acorn our chefs are passionate about the food they prepare and cook for the children in the nursery's care. They have invested time in training and education around the importance of nutrition in the early years. They all take pride in their kitchens, ensuring they are clean and they all have gained and retained their high food hygiene rating.

They enjoy working with their food producers and growers ensuring that they are using local and most importantly seasonable fruit, vegetables and fish.

Not only are they cooking for the children but also with the children. They take time out of their busy kitchens to share their skills and knowledge with the children. This includes using vegetables and soft fruit which the children have nurtured in the nursery garden, helping them to understand where food comes from.
